Hungate Lodge
Hungate Lodge is a transformational project that we are proud to have been involved with from concept right through to completion. Being just a stone’s throw from the beach, the palette of materials was very important. The chosen materials consist of zinc, render, larch cladding and aluminium fenestration, which combined gives the house a very bold but balanced appearance. The modern glazed extension to the front provides a light-filled and spacious entrance hall with a beautiful feature steel and timber staircase.
By raising the eaves height and installing a new roof structure across the former constrained chalet bungalow, we achieved 5 generous double bedrooms, and a spacious ground floor space which captures the sunlight, views, and garden space. This project evolved from being a minor refurbishment and alterations project into a full refurbishment from top to bottom. Through the creative thinking from the team, and the open-minded approach from the client, this properties potential has been found and sits proudly within the street scene.
